The obligation to operate a speed retarder on a descent applies under the following conditions:

1. AWhen a warning sign against skidding is placed on the road.
2. BWhen the vehicle is equipped with a speed retarder and a sign warning of a dangerous descent has been placed on the road.
3. CWhen the gradient of the descent is greater than six percent and the length of the descent is more than a kilometre.
4. DIn a vehicle in which a speed retarder is installed there is an obligation to operate it on every drive, even on the flat.
